Context

Fik Fameica is one of Uganda's best-known recording artists, with a catalogue that travels across East Africa. My work covers the digital operation behind that catalogue: distribution, platform profiles, YouTube channel operations, and release coordination across streaming services and social platforms.

The Challenge

An established artist releases often, collaborates widely, and has a large catalogue spread across many platforms. Without disciplined digital operations, that catalogue fragments: profiles split, credits go missing, fan uploads go unclaimed, and releases lose their momentum in the first week.

The task was to keep every release, profile, and channel consistent and working as one system across YouTube, YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay, Deezer, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

My Role

  • Music distribution and release delivery
  • Artist profile management on streaming platforms
  • YouTube channel operations and video publishing
  • Release coordination and scheduling
  • Digital catalogue administration
  • Social media and platform alignment
  • Audience and performance reporting

Strategy and Actions

Treat every release as a campaign: the official video, a lyric video, and short-form content released in sequence so each single keeps travelling for months.

Keep one consistent identity across platforms: verified artist profiles, matching imagery and biographies, and links that send fans to the same destinations.

Use the YouTube channel as the centre of discovery in East Africa, and connect it to streaming platforms so that video attention becomes listening and revenue.

Review audience and platform data regularly to decide where to focus promotion and collaborations.

Results

The public YouTube figures below show the scale of the channel this work supports. They are public channel data, not a claim of growth attributable to one person, and will be updated with verified internal figures.

Recent releases illustrate the campaign approach: Champion Gal has passed 1.8 million views on its official video with a further lyric video passing 470,000 views, Sikiwa reached 1 million views within its first month, and BILALAMU has passed 890,000 views.

Lessons Learned

Consistency beats intensity. A steady release rhythm, supported by lyric videos and short-form content, keeps an established artist present far longer than a single large launch.

Platform operations are invisible when they work and very expensive when they fail. Clean metadata and claimed profiles protect years of an artist's work.
