Behind the Release
From the Booth to the World: How a Ugandan Song Finds Its Audience
Behind every song that travels is a chain of decisions most listeners never see.

A song begins in the booth, but its journey to listeners begins the moment the recording is finished. The vocals are mixed, the master is approved, and then the real work starts: credits are confirmed, artwork is prepared, the release date is set, and the song is delivered to platforms weeks in advance.
The quiet weeks before release
The weeks before a release are rarely glamorous. They are spent checking spellings, confirming who wrote what, preparing the video, briefing the social media team, and pitching the song to platform editors. These tasks decide whether the song appears in the right playlists on the first morning.
Release morning
On release day, attention must arrive in one place. The video premieres, the artist shares the same links on every channel, and fans are guided to the platforms where their listening counts most.
Beyond the first week
The best songs keep travelling: a lyric video, a dance challenge, a live performance, a remix with an artist from another market. Each one gives the audience another reason to return.
That is the side of music I work on every day: the part behind the music that helps it go beyond the streams.
